39 Weeks!!

Pregnancy Week 39: This is it!!!

How Far Along: 39 Weeks!

Total Weight Gain:  27 pounds... sheesh I know, I've packed it all on at the end!!

Maternity Clothes: Yep, but this dress is just a maxi I got at Target long ago!!

Stretch Marks: Nope!!!  Thanks Mom!

Sleep: Ah the same, I have good nights and bad nights, the past couple of nights have been borderline miserable!!!

Best Moment this week: Nothing exciting really stands out, just getting anxious!

Miss Anything? Nope!

Movement: Yep, less kicking and more just flipping and flopping, she's calming down in there because I think she's out of room!

Food Cravings: Nope! Well, I would like to have some watermelon but I don't really think that's a craving.

Anything making you sick or queasy: Nope!

Gender:  Female

Labor Signs: Well on Wednesday I had my membranes stripped... I would never suggest doing that if you are only 1cm dilated.. OUCH...  I literally came OFF the table and was scooting away from the doctor and she was chasing me up the table!  NOT FUN.  And probably due to the sweep on Wednesday, yesterday (Friday) I had some bloody show.  This could mean labor is coming soon or not, for me I guess it's not because I've had no contractions, just cramping on and off.  So it looks like it's induction time for me.

Symptoms: Bloody show, cramping, movement, VERY emotional -- on the verge of an emotional wreck actually!

Belly Button in or out? Out!

Wedding Rings on or off? Off, actually I could wear my wedding band but I know I can't when it's delivery time so I'm just leaving it here.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Gosh, lately I've been very moody.  I feel sorry for the cat and Kyle lol!

Delivery Scoop: So my due date is this coming Friday (May 10).  My doctor will be in surgery that day.  So my only options for an induction is to get induced Thursday or wait until the following Tuesday.  I'm opting for a day early.  There are lots of factors that have caused me to opt for the induction including but not limited to: the fact that I have to drive 2 hours to get to the hospital, it gives Kyle and I a peace of mind knowing he won't have to deliver Presley on the side of the interstate, guestimated size, the longer she's in there, the bigger she'll get and they already think she'll be an 8 pounder! Fluid levels: at 35 weeks when they did the ultrasound my fluid levels were "good" at 14, however they deteriorate over time and "low" is considered below 10, the further you go, the more risk you run of lower fluid levels.  Placental health: starting at about 36 weeks, the placenta starts to deteriorate and nourish less -- the longer past 40 weeks you go, the less the placenta nourishes.  Finally -- fear.  My husband and I have known of various mothers who have delivered babies at 39-40 weeks gestation that were still-born.  I know this is rare but in my selfish heart I would rather have my baby while I know it is alive and healthy than just let it stay in there as long as possible and run that risk.  Call me selfish, I suppose I am.  I am just super ready to meet this baby girl and I'm willing to do anything to insure that happens.  Now, I know with an induction I also run the risk of complications and increased chances of a C-section and all that, I am mentally prepared for all those outcomes but I just pray the Lord is with us and creates a happy and healthy delivery.

So Wednesday night (8th) I will go into the hospital at 9pm and they will administer 9 hours of cervadil.  Cervadil is similar to a suppository that secretes a substance that causes your cervix to begin to thin and dilate (since mine has been at 1cm/50-60% for 4 weeks now).  Sometimes this is all women need to get labor going, I'm hoping I'm one of those women -- not likely though.  Thursday morning at 7:30 they are planning to start the induction by administering pitocin.  Pitocin is a synthetic hormone that mimics oxytocin (the natural one in the body that causes labor and contractions).  I am not excited about the pitocin as I had made plans to have this baby without medicinal pain relief, however with pitocin come STRONG and HARD contractions very close together, so I have decided that if they do have to use pitocin, I will be opting for the epidural.  Now, my plan is to actually get as far as possible without it in hopes that labor will progress as much as possible so we'll see.  This entire process will probably take anywhere from 8-10 hours depending on how well my body reacts to the pitocin.  So we are looking for Presley Blair Wolfe to be arriving sometime Thursday afternoon/evening time.

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers all week leading up to D-Day!

Who knows, maybe she'll make her own appearance before Wednesday night even rolls around, if that's the case, GREAT, if not, then we've got a plan.  If things go well, we should be be home in time to celebrate Mother's Day together as a family -- and for that I am very excited!

The next blog post should be filled with pictures of our new baby girl! YAY

38 weeks!!! 2 weeks to go!!

How Far Along: 38 weeks

Total Weight Gain: 25 pounds sheesh!

Maternity Clothes: yep, but in this pic it's just a normal dress and sweater I've had for years!

Stretch Marks: Nope!

Sleep: Well I have good days and bad days. Some nights I wake up to per and can't fall back asleep then some nights I drift right off, back still wakes me up hurting often!

Best Moment this week: Doctor's appointment. Mom came with me this time so we had girls day and had lunch and shopped a bit, it was nice :). Also doc told me she has my due date as May 10, not May 12... Not that it makes that big of a difference so we'll see! She also checked me again, still only 1cm dilated but 60% effaced now... I'm still thinking it may be a while! I'm not ready to start all those old wives tales ways to induce labor, I may change my mind soon though! Lol

Miss Anything? Nope!!

Movement: Yep, she's been getting energy bursts more often, I'm thinking its where I'm less active do she sleeps less, who knows!

Food Cravings: None really this week!

Anything making you sick or queasy: Nope!

Gender: Female

Labor Signs: nothing but feeling kinda crampy at night/sleep/morning time. No false labor. No Braxton hicks. No mucus plug loss. No nothing!

Symptoms: big belly, crampy, starting to get emotional more often, but that's it. I'm still heartburn free so that excited me!!

Belly Button in or out? OUT... wayyyyy out!

Wedding Rings on or off? Off, well my wedding band is still on but the engagement set is OFF for sure

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, and very very anxious!!!! I cannot believe she'll be here in 2 short weeks!

37 Weeks!!!

37 Weeks Pregnant: 3 more weeks! Oh my gosh!!!!!

How Far Along: 37 weeks

Total Weight Gain:  23 pounds, I know, I gained a lot in a week.  But doctor didn't seem too concerned since I'm still "under" so it's okay I GUESS!! LOL

Maternity Clothes: yep, both my jeans and my shirt are from Motherhood Maternity

Stretch Marks: Nope!

Sleep: Well I know last week I complained but I've actually slept really well this week, surprisingly, so that's good!

Best Moment this week: Doctor's appointment.  She checked me and I'm 50% effaced but only dilated 1 cm, which means I probably still have  a way to go but it made it so real that labor is imminent! Yay!

Also, I started maternity leave this past Friday so I finished everything up at school so that's pretty exciting!!

Miss Anything? Not really!!

Movement: Yea, but her movements are less sharp and detailed I'm guessing because she's running out of room.  She still gets the hiccups often though so that's always reassuring!!

Food Cravings: None really this week!

Anything making you sick or queasy: Nope, I could probably still go without red meat but it doesn't make me "queasy".

Gender: Female

Labor Signs: Still feeling sorta crampy but doc says that's where my cervix is thinning out, but no contractions yet!

Symptoms: None other than the obvious!

Belly Button in or out? OUT... wayyyyy out!

Wedding Rings on or off? Off, well my wedding band is still on but the engagement set is OFF for sure

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, and very very anxious!!!! I cannot believe she'll be here in 3 short weeks!

Pregnancy Week 36

Pregnancy Week 36:

How Far Along: 36 Weeks

Total Weight Gain:  22 pounds, not sure how I gained 2 pounds in a week but... oh well! LOL

Maternity Clothes: Yep, but in this picture it's just maternity jeans and a normal t-shirt I've had (hence you can see its tightness lol)

Stretch Marks: Nope!

Sleep: For some reason this week I have slept very well (other than one night), now don't get me wrong, I'm still up multiple times to go pee BUT I fall right back asleep and my back/hip/knee pain doesn't keep me up!

Best Moment this week: Ultrasound at the doctor (probably the last one until labor), she's measuring around 5 pounds, 11 ounces and it's estimated that she'll be about 7 pounds, 12 ounces by birth if she continues to grow at the same rate, on a positive note, she doesn't seem to have a big head (says the doctor) so that may make labor easier lol... guess she'll get a pea head from her Daddy  because LORD KNOWS she won't get it from me! Doctor also said my fluid levels look good (ranging at about a 14 and 10-20 is "good"), the umbilical cord is still nice and "juicy" says Dr. Steele so that's why she's getting so big, my baby CAN EAT!

Miss Anything? Nope!

Movement: Yep, but it seems to have decreased somewhat because I think she's running out of room.  Dr. Steel called it "very taught in there"!

Food Cravings: Nope!

Anything making you sick or queasy: Nope!

Gender: Female

Labor Signs: I've been feeling a little period-crampy but Dr. Steele says that's perfectly normal, we're hitting the home stretch!!

Symptoms: crampy, growing belly, rising number on the scales.  I'm still so lucky because I haven't had heartburn, morning sickness, fatigue (other than in the first trimester), this has been a pretty symptom-free pregnancy and I am so thankful! I am, however, starting to swell a tad bit in my feet, by about 1:00 in the school day, it's pretty painful and I have to either elevate them while I'm at school or hurry home and prop them up.  Dr. Steele says that's also normal for this stage in pregnancy... whatev.

Belly Button in or out? Out and there ain't no hidin' it!  We were walking through the mall after my appointment and 2 guys passed us and one was just looking at my belly and smiling and I said, "Kyle, why is he smiling at my belly?" and Kyle says, "probably because of that goofy-looking belly button!!!"

Wedding Rings on or off? OFF!  I can put them on in the morning by by about noon I can't get them off, so I'm just going to leave them off!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Very happy!!  Cannot wait until PRESLEY BLAIR WOLFE is here to see us!!! Less than 4 weeks!!!

Pregnancy Week 35

Pregnancy Week 35!

How Far Along: 35 Weeks

Total Weight Gain:  20 pounds

Maternity Clothes: Yep, except this dress is just a "large" from JC Penney

Stretch Marks: Nope!

Sleep: Not too great, I get up multiple times to pee and my back/hips/knees hurt like the dickens!

Best Moment this week: Shower today (last one) hosted by family and friends!

Miss Anything? Just sleep!

Movement: yep, she's all over the place!

Food Cravings: Not really any more!

Anything making you sick or queasy: Nope!

Gender: Female

Labor Signs: Nope!

Symptoms: Growing belly, frequent bathroom trips, etc.

Belly Button in or out? OUT

Wedding Rings on or off? On but they are SNUG!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Very happy!! I can't believe how close we are!! AHHHH

Here is a picture of her closet... I do not think she will be going naked ANYTIME soon... The clothes are arranged by size already with dividers but it is still giving me a bit of anxiety, I'm going to h ave to do something about all the stuff stacked on the shelves and floor... sounds like a good thing to do when I get on maternity leave (only 2 weeks til then!)

I'll leave you all with some random pics from the shower!!!
